Ben Hawriluk
Ben is a research scientist at the lab, where he conducts social impact audits of LLM systems and researches the history of technological change. He also leads the lab's team of 20 undergraduate research associates. He recently completed his MPA at Princeton, with coursework focused on the social and policy implications of artificial intelligence. He brings experience from the U.S. Treasury Department, in foreign language translation and linguistic analysis, and in emergency medical education. He has studied abroad in the Middle East, Eurasia, and South America and is multilingual. He holds a BA in History and Asian Studies from Rice University. Outside of work, Ben enjoys coffee, reading, mountain running, skiing, rowing competitively, and training as a novice biathlete.
